Seems a lot when I describe my outfit, doesn’t it? When it comes to how to style flared trousers, ideas just sprung into my mind, mainly because I’d been looking for a pair similar to this for the longest time. Being 5”1, it’s almost impossible to find flattering statement trousers on the high street that fit well (omg don’t even get me started on my legs and vinyl leggings!) so imagine my glee upon finding this piece. I went for an all black look to keep it elegant but easy. I love juxtapositions in outfits, it is really what brings out style rather than just cute fashionable pieces thrown together. For this I went for a Western style belt with beautiful hardware that speaks for itself – no need for other accessories as an every day look. Bringing it back to this year, I threw on a classic leather moto jacket and some simple burgundy heels. There are very few flats that could fit with flared trousers and this gave a tough look a feminine touch.
Now for the back story on this outfit. I don’t usually write about this but this incident was really special: one evening that my boyfriend and I were taking a post-dinner stroll when we came across a cellist playing Andrea Bocelli’s Time To Say Goodbye. We were in a square, under the stars, with very few others huddled beside their partner or friends. It’s a song that I grew up with, my mother would play the CD on repeat during school runs and the nostalgia was just overwhelming. The next day, we took some of these photos at that very same spot. It may not have captured the real romance of the occasion but some things should be enjoyed offline.
That brings me on to my last thought – the more social media platforms there are for us bloggers, the more confusing it is for ‘normal’ people to keep up with our lives. Latergram is just normal Instagram for us and since I’ve moved back to London, people have been asking me, :how’s Austria?” or “How’s Zurich, are you in London yet?” The truth is a little too complicated to write out in text message after text message but since you’re already on my blog, here it is: I’m writing this post from Switzerland and tomorrow, I’m flying to Hong Kong, so by the time this is published I’ll be in a different continent far far away. Never trust a geotag for real-time location!
