Sequins and Skulls

I seem to be wearing a lot of odd items thrown together lately, as a way of negating the temperamental autumn weather. Something transitional to wear from a sunny morning to a windy and damp afternoon such as a soft loose jumper paired with a sequinned statement skirt really lifts my mood. I have also noticed that around this time of the year I make fewer purchases, probably because I'm unsure whether to buy more silky, pretty summery things or chunky knits and thick leggings. Dressing this way means that I am recycling pieces and finding a direction for my style when the cold really hits.

Malta!!

I just got back from a few days in Malta where it was so beautiful and relaxing! Packing for a chilled holiday was quite easy, I stuck to favourite shorts and comfortable shoes that would be easy to combine with simple tops and bikinis. This look is quite casual and made a great transition from going for lunch and walks along the harbour, to a beautiful dinner at a stunning restaurant called Barracuda.

VFNO at Rugby Ralph Lauren!

Last night was Vogue's Fashion Night Out at Rugby Ralph Lauren in Covent Garden where bloggers, PR girls and Storm model scouts chilled at the store. Izzy Lawrence was DJing, there was popcorn and Peroni, and everyone was head-to-toe decked out in Rugby gear. I was also super excited to meet Josh from the blog Preposity which is the only male written blog I actually follow. So here are some of the photos from the night (the last four are from the photographer at the event)!

The Superfluous

For this look I tried transitional layering for the summer. I like the idea of taking a piece off and still have a complete 'look', yet all together it's quite quirky and teetering on the boundary of superfluousness. My mixed silk and madras bow tie is a beloved accessory that I do not wear enough and the subtle mix of patterns with the polka dot peplum adds to the eccentricity of the skirt- and- trouser combination. I also gave myself another sequin manicure- this time just the tips were sequin which was a lot harder to do.

September Issue

As the colder weather draws in I'm getting really excited to wear boots again- I wore little ankle ones throughout this year but had been craving the knee- length riding boot style. I saw a really great pair from Topshop, but after seeing a really nice pair from Zara for a lot less, I thought it would make more sense seeing as my boots usually last me one to two seasons at most. Also, these high- waisted red leopard jeans are so comfortable, I have been living in them this week when I haven't been working. I've never been a huge leopard fan but the faded print and the cranberry colour make it a little less Scary Spice and a bit more edgy.
