MY FAVOURITE DOORWAY. This is a short post featuring one of my favourite spots in Soho, an alleyway with my favourite plaque that makes me smile whenever I see it. I have abstained from buying too many new things, it has made me think of more creative things to do with what I already have, so everything you see you might find in older posts. Ask if you'd like to know where anything is from!
TURQUOISE REWORKED. This dress was bought early last summer and I never thought I would be able to wear it in January but with a customized leather jacket and elbow length gloves it was an experimental, modern adaptation of Holly Golightly's iconic look.
VARSITY + RUFFLES. I have a little obsession with Rugby Ralph Lauren, the store is adorable especially in this Christmas season and the clothes are so luxuriously soft and inviting; there is so much warmth and familiarity about the brand and concept. I feel that it is so easy to style a statement evening dress, but there is the danger of a lack of imagination which is crucial to that fantastic, fluttery feeling that an amazing outfit can give you. Clothes and shoes that are comfortable, fit well and are well- made provide the best canvas for any kind of expression. The best thing I can think of to compare this to is the nursery rhyme about the old lady that lived in a boot. These Chelsea boots that my boyfriend claims he picked out for me from Gucci are perfect for the soggy streets of London and I can't stop wearing them.
