Enlightenment


I am studying History of Art at university and historians always remind me of tweed, elbow patches and bow ties; all of which I reserve a great deal of fondness. This is what I would typically wear to lectures, minus the heels because despite the deceptive chunky heel, they are laborious to walk in. At the moment it seems as if all of my courses are dated around the late eighteenth to early nineteenth century, revolving around French and British art. The little soldiers on my shorts remind me of the Revolutions during that epoch and I suppose the nature of the generational evolution that is taking place among youths at present.

  11. Fabulously put together. Art and history are such beautiful inspirations for an outfit. Your comment on tweed made me smile. When I first headed to England for University, and later grad school, my dad insisted I should get myself a tweed blazer. Perhaps even ones with elbow patches? But I didn't want to blend in with my professors! I much prefer your ladylike version ;-)

  23. Love the shorts. Anyway - the pictures are from the film The Royal Tenenbaums and the girl in them is Margot Tenenbaum. I saw the movie about an hour ago and it's probably one of the best I've ever seen. The set, the actors, the CLOTHES... Amazing!
